Here are STEP by STEP instructions on how to learn an NFP method:

  1. Familiarizing yourself with different methods of NFP available (see below)

  2. Choose a method, that best fits you

  3. Sign up for a class with an instructor of that method; having an NFP instructor will increase user effectiveness.

While at YOU, ME, AND NFP we joyfully encourage the use of any NFP method, here (on our website) you’ll find more information and specifics on how to access personalized instruction in the Marquette Method as one of our co-founders, Sarah Tramonte, is a certified Marquette Method NFP instructor.

DIFFERENT METHODS OF NFP:

Creighton Model (CrMS):

Known benefits in helping those struggling with Infertility.

The CrMS relies upon the standardized observation and charting of biological markers that are essential to a woman's health and fertility. These 'biomarkers" tell the couple when they are naturally fertile and infertile, allowing the couple to use the system either to achieve or to avoid pregnancy. These biomarkers also telegraph abnormalities in a woman's health. The CrMS allows a woman to unravel the mysteries of the menstrual cycle. The CrMS is also the basis for the new women's health science, NaProTECHNOLOGY (natural procreative technology). (referenced above: creighton website)

Billings Ovulation Method:

The Billings Ovulation Method® is a natural method of fertility management that teaches you how to recognize the body's natural signal of fertility - cervical mucus. Cervical mucus is a scientific and reliable signal of fertility.

Sympto Thermal Method CCL:

Sympto-Thermal Method is based on three key signs of fertility: cervical mucus, basal body temperature and changes in the cervix. By observing and recording these signs you can identify phases of fertility or infertility.

(GRNFP - referenced above)

SymptoPro Method:

SymptoPro Fertility Education is a sympto-thermal method of NFP which relies on a woman’s daily observations to determine her current state of fertility. (referenced above: GRNFP)

Marquette Method:

Utilizes modern day touchscreen technology (clearblue fertility monitor) an at home device that registers urinary hormones of fertility and makes fertility detection more objective, and often increases user confidence with NFP.  Along with the fertility monitor the Marquette Method uses other biological indicators to help establish the fertile and infertile phases in a woman’s “monthly cycle” such as cervical mucus, basal body temperatures, and algorithm (past cycle data).

We’d love to hear what method of NFP you practice and what you like most about it.
